Meetings of the MembersA General Meeting of the Members of the Society, called the Annual General Meeting, shall be held every year. The business to be transacted at the meeting shall include the following:
A notice of an Annual General Meeting shall be sent to every member at least 21 days before the meeting, stating therein the date, time, venue and the agenda for the meeting. All General Meetings of the Society other than the Annual General Meeting shall be known as Extraordinary General Meetings and such meetings may be convened to consider any urgent matter by giving a notice of 15 days. One-tenth of the members or fifty members, whichever is less, shall constitute the quorum for any General Meeting of the Society. If the requisite quorum is not present, then the meeting shall be adjourned for half an hour and thereafter the business will be transacted with the members present forming the quorum, provided the President and at least 14 members are among those present. The accidental omission to send notice to a member or non-receipt of notice by some members shall not affect the validity of the proceedings of a meeting. |

Termination of MembershipAn individual membership shall cease by death, resignation or removal. An individual member whose annual subscription is in arrears for two consecutive years despite reminders from the Society may be removed from the membership of the Society by the Governing Council. Such a member may however be readmitted by the Governing Council on his clearing the arrears and paying, a fine of Rs.200. An individual member is liable to be removed by the Governing Council from the membership of the Society if he/she is declared insolvent or convicted of a criminal offence or he/she has, in the opinion of the Governing Council, behaved or acted in a manner which is in fact and in merit prejudicial or detrimental to the interests of the Society. |
